George Zoghby for District Judge

George Zoghby had over 25 years of experience as a lawyer and decided to run for the newly opened District Judge position. Emulous Creative was brought on board to fill the gaps in social media and other aspects of the campaign. At that time, the social media had images where the logo was cropped out of thumbnails. Moving forward to handle some graphic design work for social media we also identified the logo file was not a proper vector-based image. Our goal moving forward was to create consistency with the branding on all of Zoghby’s social presence.

Branding

Cleaning up the logo was the start of the branding work. We recreated the logo in Adobe Illustrator to have a vector-based logo. A logo that could now be increased and decreased in size without the fear of pixelation occurring. After gaining a proper logo to work with, we simply place the logo in the middle of the artboard and created a radial gradient going from a medium-grey outside to a white interior. This simple graphic would now naturally draw the eye into the center where the logo was placed. The gradient would also act a natural border to keep the image from blending into the page.

Social

On social media, we wanted to raise awareness of those who supported Zoghby. This lead to the creation of the “profile frame.” We utilized a bold red color to help capture attention. The logo was placed to help identify the campaign. The tag line at the top helped to reenforce the campaign’s slogan.

We also wanted to have facts about Zoghby that would inform voters to come out systematically before election day. To do this, we create countdown graphics. The graphics were branded with Zoghby’s logo, the number of days left until the election and finally the simple message of “vote.” The fact about Zogby would appear in the copy of the post to keep the graphics clean.

Bras Across the “CAUSE”way

Bras Across the “CAUSE”way is a fundraising event benefiting Providence Hospital Breast Cancer Outreach Fund. Emulous Creative was brought on to create a commercial to fill the PSA slot provided for the event. Overall, we wanted to create something that was fun but did not downplay the event. The challenge arose from the lack of assets to create the commercial.

Videography

Bras Across the “CAUSE”way had no video to create a commercial from, but they did have photos from the previous run. I created some custom-made illustrations to serve as the background, and animated runners along the path. The runners acted as a guide, taking the viewer from the right to left as event photos popped up on the screen. The entire project was edited to include as much information as possible, and the voice over and music brought light and playful tones to the spot. The commercial races on screen for 15-seconds, as we give details about the run to the audience. The call to action would lead them back to the Facebook page where we would also have the video running as ads. This double dipping of the video would maximize the reach without consuming the budget.

Graphic Design

While designing the illustrations for the commercial, we realized we could also create a poster for the event. The layout was practically created from the commercial, all that was needed was text and to extend the art to fit a full poster. Having a print piece would provide Bras Across the “CAUSE”way the opportunity to tap into outdoor advertising by hanging the poster in local businesses to raise awareness of the upcoming event. The poster carried on the visual branding created in the commercial, which would allow the branding to speak. Being a digitally designed poster, we could also resize the design to create some social posts reminding users about important dates relating to the event itself.

Armed Alabama Branding

Armed Alabama Branding

Armed Alabama had many fronts. They taught self-defense classes, hosted a local radio show, and streamed live on Facebook. We needed the brand to be recognizable at a glance. The creation of a logo that could act as a seal gave Armed Alabama a brand to stand by regardless of the platform. The imagery used in association with Armed Alabama is a mix of rugged distortion to represent the spirit of the hands-on approach Rusty and Adam brought to their programs, and then a clean and modern look to bring the civilized side of the organization. Balancing the two distinctly different styles gave Armed Alabama the human appeal that listeners related to.

When asked by a close friend to assist his family with a new logo for a family member’s new business, I eager began drawing ideas. Armed Alabama wanted to educate the public about their rights, hold training classes to empower citizens to defend themselves within the confines of the law, and also bring entertainment to their hour-long radio show. Their logo had to have an authoritative feel while also being recognizable. Taking inspiration from the client’s request, we created a seal for the organization. We are very proud to be able to supply a logo that brought great value while maintaining a modest budget for Armed Alabama.

Gulf Coast Exotic Animal Expo TV Commercial

Gulf Coast Exotic Animal Expo TV Commercial

The Gulf Coast Exotic Animal Expo was a new step for the South Alabama Cage Bird Society. The group moved from an exotic bird fair to an expo featuring all kinds of exotic animals. Starting from a concept, we worked together to create a campaign for the Gulf Coast Exotic Animal Expo that showed the event as a family friendly experience.

Since the Gulf Coast Exotic Animal Expo was a new event, we had no previous footage of the actual event. Members of the South Alabama Cage Bird Society worked with us to film animals that would be featured at the expo. Using parts of the footage gathered from those film shoots, we adapted the billboard design to create a look that continued the brand we had begun to establish while giving it new life through animation. The results of combining those visual elements with an uptempo background music and fun voice over created the commercial for the family fun event.
