Impact of Social Media
At first glance, the impact of social media is one that is undervalued. Sadly, it is often written off as an afterthought to the success of a business. With proper training and resources, we’ve seen social media be the driving force in a business’s success. Bringing in more organic reach, increasing brand awareness, assisting with reputation management, and boosting customer retention to name a few.
Management vs. Marketing
It’s common to get aspects of social media marketing mixed up with the management side of things. Both require a great deal amount of work and are enhanced by each other.
Management
Management is the act of overseeing your social profiles and a variety of social media management tools. Tools can help to create, schedule, analyze, and engage with content on a number of different social networks. Social managers usually rely on one or two tools to help save time and act on a social media strategy.
Marketing
Marketing is the practice of using social platforms to gain attention and traffic for your business. The marketing side of things plays an integral role in creating an overall strategy and implementing that through management.
Those interested in social marketing may look into:
- Social media analytics
- Brand awareness
- Organic Reach
- Target audience
There’s no right way to do either management or marketing. Ideally, both are used in tandem to successfully create an overall marketing strategy. Your strategy is what allows people to interact with your company any day of the week and around the clock.
Our Thoughts
The depth of social media is one of its biggest charms. It allows business owners to explore a number of different types of content while establishing a reputation among customers. Best of all, social media can be one of the most budget-friendly marketing platforms available today.
We encourage everyone to look through social media profiles of their favorite brands to see what they are doing. Remember, there’s no right way to do any of it. It’s important to make sure you have a marketing strategy and a marketing plan that can help pave the way.
